Holistic healing in Kaikoura

My Story...

I never set out thinking I would one day create a practice supporting people to heal from trauma.

My journey began with my own lived experience. From childhood trauma to navigating the #MeToo movement, I carried stories and pain that shaped much of my early life.

Since the age of 10, I was in and out of talk therapy. While it offered moments of support, the cycle of retelling my story over and over often left me drained and stuck.

After 18 years overseas, I returned to my beautiful hometown of Kaikoura, New Zealand. Around this time I witnessed someone close to me struggle with mental health and addiction, both rooted in unprocessed trauma. What struck me most was the lack of accessible services and follow-up care in smaller communities.

This became my turning point. At 40, I chose to start a new career. I returned to university full-time, completing an undergraduate degree in psychology and beginning my honours. Along the way, I discovered Root-Cause Therapy — a modality that aligned with everything I had been searching for.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, RCT works with the subconscious and unconscious to identify and resolve the root cause of pain, rather than circling endlessly through the same stories.

This approach felt real, practical, and deeply human. It was the missing piece I had been looking for.

Why Kaikoura? It is a privilege to be surrounded by mountains and ocean, and I love that I can offer a healing space deeply connected to nature. This environment naturally supports well-being, reflection, and transformation.

My holistic approach combines formal training with lived experience. I work with clients who feel stuck, even after trying talk therapy or mindset work.

I specialise in emotional well-being and mental health support through Root Cause Therapy. With a focus on:

  • Intergenerational trauma

  • Childhood / Unresolved trauma

  • Addiction

  • Mental health in young adults and older persons

My mission is simple: to create a safe, compassionate space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to release what no longer serves them — and to step into a more peaceful, authentic life.
